Seguin ISD student brought cocaine to elementary school, police say

A Seguin Independent School District student was arrested and accused of bringing narcotics onto an elementary campus, according to the Seguin Police Department.

School administrators notified officers on Wednesday morning that drugs were brought to Jefferson Elementary School.

Upon arrival, an officer was presented with a small, clear bag containing a white substance found in a classroom, according to Seguin police.

With the help of school administrators, the officer identified a girl as the person who brought the substance to school, police said.

Authorities conducted a field test, which confirmed the substance was cocaine hydrochloride, Seguin police said.

The student, whose age is unknown, was detained and transported to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Facility.

She was charged with possession of a substance in penalty group 1 in a drug-free zone, police said.

KSAT reached out to Seguin ISD for a comment on Wednesday night but has not yet heard back.
