San Antonio police plan on charging a driver that fled from the scene of an accident after killing a pedestrian and crashing into a building early Saturday, March 25, in Southtown.
Police said the driver of a Telsa Model 3 lost control of their car, struck a pedestrian on a sidewalk near S. Alamo Street and Probandt Street, and crashed their car into the side of a building around 1:30 a.m.
Officials said the pedestrian, who remains unidentified, was pronounced dead shortly after law enforcement and first responders arrived.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled on foot and police said they will be charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in a death, a second degree felony punishably by up to 20 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
