Report: The Spurs to conduct a pre-draft workout with Josh Primo

The San Antonio Spurs have scheduled a pre-draft workout with Alabama shooting guard Josh Primo, per Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report.

Wasserman also reports Primo will work out for the New Orleans Pelicans, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, and Oklahoma City Thunder.

At exactly 18 years and 187 days old, Primo is the youngest player in the 2021 Draft Class. And his mouthwatering ceiling has him skyrocketing on big boards across the country.

The six-six swingman averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for a Crimson Tide unit that went 26-7, advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, and finished fifth in the final AP Poll.

While the Toronto, Ontario native only started 19 games during his lone season in Tuscaloosa, he showed enough to be named to the SEC All-Freshman Team and draw genuine first-round interest.

Primo shot 38.1% from beyond the arc on 3.8 attempts per game a year ago, and the Silver and Black, who finished near the bottom of virtually every three-point category, could find appeal in his long-range shooting.

The Canadian youngster was one of 74 prospects who participated in the 2021 NBA Draft Combine last week. Primo was also among the 353 early entry candidates for the 2021 NBA Draft.

Although college players who applied for early entry have until July 7 to withdraw their name from the draft to retain their NCAA eligibility, Primo has almost no reason to return to Alabama after building lottery buzz.

The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on July 29 at 7 PM CST at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. ESPN and ABC will televise the first round, and the second round will air exclusively on ESPN.
