A family on the West Side was awakened by four men in masks pointing guns them at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, San Antonio police said.

Police are still searching for the men who they say kicked in the door of the residence near the 5400 block of Wincheap Farm and demanded money. One of the occupants of the home said the four men came into the bedrooms and aimed what he thought were AR-15s and handguns at him and his family.

The four masked men fired off two shots at the house before getting away with cellphones and a purse, police said. The residents said the suspects weren’t given any money.

Police were able to ping the phones for their location, but it led them to an empty gray car close by at the intersection of Moonrise and Fourtuna. There were several gunshots to the passenger side of the car.

The residents did not allow investigators to process the interior of the home, but several shell casings were collected outside, SAPD said.

The residents said they didn’t know who the men were and gave very little information, SAPD said.
