Woman killed in hit-and-run on San Antonio’s Northeast Side

A woman walking along a highway frontage road was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday, officials said.

Around 3 a.m., the woman was walking along Interstate 35 access road near Weidner Road when she was hit by a vehicle. The driver did not stop, authorities said.

Another person passing by saw the woman and called police. EMS attempted to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner has not yet identified the woman.
