Locals authorities are working with the Texas Department of State Health Services to identify people who may have come in close contact with the patient.

Officials said that anyone who visited a H-E-B store in La Vernia between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Mar. 18 may have been exposed. The store is located at 14414 U.S. 87 West.

State health services determined that the risk of contracting the virus from exposure at the H-E-B is low. Officials said isolation is not required for anyone not having symptoms.

People who believe they were exposed should monitor themselves closely for symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and shortness of breath for 14 days after exposure.

Anyone experiencing the symptoms who does not need urgent medical attention should isolate at home and contact their healthcare provider, officials said.

Medina County, west of San Antonio, reported two more cases Friday, bringing its total to three.

The two new individuals live in the same household in the countryside, officials said, and are self-isolating at home.

The patients do not know who they contracted the virus from, officials said, and it has been determined they acquired it within the county.

Kendall County and the city of Boerne confirmed three additional cases Friday, bringing the county’s total to six.

All six cases are travel-related, officials said, or individuals who contracted the virus from people they live with.
