Video shows aftermath of truck that drove through a Wing Stop near Marbach Road

Jennifer Ortiz Zamarripa said she heard a loud disturbance while she was shopping at a strip mall on the West Side of San Antonio on Thursday afternoon. When she went outside to investigate, she saw a truck had crashed into a nearby Wing Stop, causing water to pour from the building.

“They busted something in the store because the whole parking lot was practically flooded from all the water coming out of the building,” she said.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 56-year-old woman accidentally stepped on her gas pedal instead of the brake while she waiting for her food at the Wing Stop located at 1739 SW Loop 410, near Marbach Road.

Ortiz captured the aftermath and uploaded the video to her Facebook account later that afternoon.

She also received a video from a Wing Stop employee who captured what the store looked like inside after the truck ran through it.

Police said the woman told them she was distracted when she drove into the restaurant. A 76-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were also in the pickup truck, authorities said.

The crash caused a pipe in the building to burst, according to the police. SAWS was notified and turned off the water in the building.

The San Antonio Fire Department said there were no injuries and no major structural damage to the building.

The Wing Stop is temporarily closed.
