Trey Lance: Jimmy Garoppolo one of my best friends
For the better part of the 2021 NFL season, football fans and talking heads alike tried their best to tear Jimmy Garoppolo down. Each time that happened, his 49ers teammates came to his defense.
Perhaps no one defended him better than backup quarterback Trey Lance did on Monday, calling the starting QB one of his best friends.
“Obviously he’s going to be one of my best friends my entire life,” the rookie told reporters one day after Garoppolo and the Niners suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
