The Witte Museum is hosting a ‘Welcome Back Parade’ to celebrate its reopening

Updated

The Witte Museum is reopening with a “Drive By and Say Hi” parade from 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday to celebrate its reopening.

The Witte has been closed for months as part of the coronavirus pandemic response. It remained shuttered for even weeks after Gov. Greg Abbott gave museums the go ahead to reopen on May 1.

The “Drive By and Say Hi” event will give guests the chance to see “Witte InterActors” or characters like Tiny Tex, Captain Calcium, the Chili Queen, Cowboy Jeremy and other museum friends.

Since the museum is operating at 25 percent capacity, buying tickets ahead of time is encouraged.

Guest who’d like to participate in the parade are asked to enter the campus through Gunn Drive to say “hi.”
