The Texas Hill Country is up for best wine region. Here’s how to vote.

Texans, let’s help the beautiful Hill Country receive the top award for the best wine region in the nation. 

In USA TODAY’s Readers’ Choice 2021, our Texas Hill Country received a nomination for the best wine region in the country. However, it is currently trailing the first-place Walla Walla Valley area in Washington as of Thursday morning.

The scenic Texas Hill Country, which surrounds the communities of Austin, Fredericksburg, Stonewall, Lampasas, and New Braunfels, is home to more than 50 wineries. 

The publication asked a panel of wine industry experts to pick their favorite North American wine regions to compile their top 20 choices. Readers can vote for their favorite out of the pool once per day until Monday, August 2. 

Other nominees include the Temecula Valley in California, Finger Lakes in New York, Dahlonega Plateau in Georgia, Monticello in Virginia, Paso Robles in California, Old Mission Peninsula in Michigan, and Napa Valley in California.
