Gabriel Iglesias reveals he caught COVID-19 during San Antonio stint, cancels shows

Gabriel Iglesias says he tested positive for COVID-19 and is canceling the remainder of his San Antonio stint.

Gabriel Iglesias says he tested positive for COVID-19 and is canceling the remainder of his San Antonio run. 

The comedian, also known as “Fluffy,” revealed on Twitter that he is experiencing chills, body aches, and could not taste his birthday cake. Iglesias was wrapping up his 27-show San Antonio schedule at the Tobin Center. It’s unclear if the celebrity left town at any point during the last month or if he contracted the virus here.

In a video posted at 1:44 a.m., the just-turned 45-year-old says other than the symptoms he feels “pretty good” but will enter isolation for the next two weeks.

The comedian adds that he’s been vaccinated, and credits the vaccine for his symptoms being relatively mild. Iglesias says once he receives a negative test, he will return to work. 

“Wish me luck,” he tells fans. 

The Tobin Center says ticketholders were sent an email with exchange options.
