Teen accused of fatally shooting 14-year-old at far Northwest Side home

A teenager is accused of fatally shooting a 14-year-old boy Wednesday night on the far Northwest Side.

David Rodriguez Jr., 17, is charged with manslaughter in the death of Michael Paul Prieto, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez posted a $50,000 bond and was released Thursday.

Deputies were called for reports of a shooting at about 9 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 11500 block of Sangria.

Prieto was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators arrested Rodriguez.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Prieto died from a gunshot wound to his head. His death was ruled a homicide.

Deputies did not say what occurred between Rodriguez and Prieto that led to the shooting.
