Spurs at Nuggets Playoff Game 1 Thread

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The Spurs open up the playoff season tonight against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets haven’t been to the playoffs recently, while the Spurs have been in the playoffs every year since WWII. (Maybe I’m exaggerating a little.) But this year, the Spurs have a lot of new players and have been pretty inconsistent, although LaMarcus Aldridge has arguably had the best season of his career, and DeMar DeRozan has integrated into the Silver and Black culture seamlessly in his first year. Derrick White has been much better than expected, and has been demonstrating his ability to take key shots in big minutes late this season. Tonight is his chance to prove it in the playoffs, but Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Nuggets aren’t going to make it easy to keep up with them in the thin atmosphere of the Mile High City. Go Spurs GO!
