After a years-long, complex battle over Selena’s estate and which party, her family or her husband, has the right to produce content based on her life, Chris Perez says he and the Quintanillas have resolved their issues “amicably.”

The guitarist, who was a member of Selena y Los Dinos, announced the resolution via social media on Tuesday afternoon.

“Good news! I wanted to give everyone an update to let you know that I have amicably resolved my legal dispute with Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. and the entire Quintanilla family,” his post reads.

It’s unclear if the dispute was handled legally or out of court.

“Now that these issues are behind us, going forward, my hope, and the hope of the Quintanilla family, is for us to work together to continue to honor and celebrate the legacy of Selena,” the post continues.

The Facebook page for Abraham Quintanilla includes the same message, almost verbatim.

One of the more recent issues was a lawsuit stemming from Perez’s 2012 book “To Selena with Love,” which he was planning on adapting into a TV series. The battle was still tied up in court in February, according to Courthouse News Service.
