SAPD: Teenager shot after trying to buy drugs on West Side

Police are searching for the individuals responsible for the shooting

San Antonio police are investigating a shooting that left a teenager hospitalized on the West Side on Thursday.

A 16-year-old had arranged to purchase marijuana off of a social media site and met with a group of people just after 9:30 p.m. near the 8600 block of Spoonbill Court, police said.

Four teenagers arrived at the location in a white or grey two-door car and demanded the 16-year-old’s money at gunpoint. When the teenager refused, someone who was in the car shot the teen in the foot, SAPD said.

The individuals in the car then fled the scene, police said.

The teenager was taken to University Hospital with a non-life threatening injury to his foot.
