SAPD: Man shot and killed Friday at an East Side hotel
Officers were called to the Knights Inn on East Houston St. near the AT&T Center for a shooting around 6:07 a.m.
They found a 38-year-old man lying on the ground outside with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A witness told police that a 43-year-old man was inside his room when the 38-year-old man arrived and began to kick in the door. When the door was breached, the man inside opened fire with a handgun, striking the intruder multiple times.
The 43-year-old man fled the scene before officers arrived.
The victim has not been identified. The shooting remains under investigation.
