Police have identified the man as Robert Lee Collett Jr. According to police, Collett crashed his large pickup truck into the back of a sedan at around 1:30 a.m. in the 16500 block of U.S. 281 North, near Brook Hollow, killing the 61-year-old female driver of the sedan. She died at the scene, officials said.

Police said they believe Collett was speeding and appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the crash.
