San Antonio man blasted on TikTok pleads guilty to Capitol riots

The FBI’s presentation of Matthew Carl Mazzocco’s social media bread crumb trail led him to plead guilty to his involvement in the January 6 Capitol riots.

Mazzocco, 37, pled guilty to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, according to plea deal documents put forward by his attorney Robbie Ward on July 2. Mazzocco was arrested in January

Because of his guilty plea, Mazzocco avoided additional charges and will be out on bond until his sentencing hearing on October 4.

He faces six months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Mazzocco was actively posting videos and photos on TikTok and Facebook documenting his participation in the Capitol riots, additional documents show. The FBI was aided by numerous “citizens” who put his posts on blast, including one Facebook photo of him outside the Capitol that read “the capital (sic) is ours.”

A Twitter account @pence_fly tagged the San Antonio FBI account in a post that showed a screen-recorded TikTok video of Mazzocco inside the Capitol building with other individuals.

Flight records also show that Mazzocco flew out of San Antonio to Washington Dulles Airport on January, and then returned to San Antonio on January 7, according to court documents.

Mazzocco described himself as a “Mortgage Loan Ninja” that worked for CMG Financial. He has since been fired.
