San Antonio area remains under flash flood watch through Friday night

A flash flood watch is in effect now through Friday evening in the San Antonio area and surrounding counties.

Pockets of heavy rainfall and storms are expected to continue today with 1 to 3 inches possible across Bexar, Guadalupe, Gonzales, 
Atascosa, Wilson, Lavaca, DeWitt, and Karnes counties. Up to 5 inches of rainfall is expected in isolated pockets across the region. 

Saturated areas to the northwest of San Antonio, particularly along I-35 and into the Hill Country, are also susceptible to flooding.

The threat of heavy rainfall will likely dissipate beginning tomorrow as the weather shifts west.
