Photos: Crowds flock to Cowboys Dancehall as bars allowed to reopen

A crowd of people lined up at Cowboys Dancehall Friday morning to celebrate after Gov. Greg Abbott announced bars in Texas can start to reopen.

A line had formed around the Northeast Side bar just before the clock struck midnight with party-goers waiting to get a drink after two months in quarantine.

As a part of Abbott’s reopening plans, starting Friday, bars are able to open at 25 percent occupancy while practicing safe social distancing rules.

An employee at the door who was taking temperatures was the only person wearing a mask in the massive crowd of people, a witness said.
