Open Thread: Tony Parker’s updated jersey returns to its place in rafters

Je fais du basketball.

Fans in attendance may have recently noticed Tony Parker’s retired jersey hasn’t been in attendance in the revered rafters of the Frost Bank Center. As the NBA Hall of Fame’s latest inductee, Tony Parker’s laundry was briefly removed so that it could receive new threads cementing his status as one of the great players in league history. It is now back!

Of course, Parker quickly rose to stardom as a young point guard and played 17 years with the San Antonio Spurs, winning 4 titles (including one Finals MVP), and named to 6 All-Star teams.

I was a freshman in college when Gregg Popovich inserted Parker into the starting lineup, and he immediately took over the reins of the Spurs offense. Many memories come to mind when I think of number 9 on the court, but my favorite non-NBA moment was when he released a rap video.

What are your favorite Tony Parker NBA and non-NBA moments? There are no wrong answers, but to borrow a favorite in PtR lore, “Parker needs to dominate Fisher.”
