Open Thread: Spurs and Heat face off at Black Heritage Night at the Frost Bank Center

February kicks off Black History month
The San Antonio Spurs stay engaged in community events. They support as number of causes and they use their promotional nights to underscore a number of national events.
The NBA recognizes Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday. And tonight the Spurs kick off Black History Month with Black Heritage Night at the Frost Bank Center.

Fans can celebrate with a Spurs Black Heritage jersey. A portion of the proceeds go to supporting the local Black owned businesses, nonprofits and programs.
The theme for 2025’s Black Heritage Month is “Amplify Voices, Power Action, Build Joy.”
Spurs Give will be making a $10,000 donation to Huston-Tillotson University commemorating their 150th anniversary.
Additionally, the Spurs will honor three local visionaries as part of the Leaders and Legacies award series. Valerie Reiffert, Bishop Rosa L. Wilson, and Mario Marcel Salas, will be recognized during an in-game tribute celebrating their impact within the San Antonio community.
