Open Thread: Patty Mills played his 600th game with the San Antonio Spurs

On Sunday evening, the Spurs played their third game of the season. But for Patty Mills it was his 600th with the Silver & Black.

Mills, in his tenth year in San Antonio, is the most tenured Spurs player on the current roster and the only remaining member of the 2014 Championship. His leadership and locker room presence only adds to what the Torres Strait Islander does on the court. This season Patty has vowed to be the FIBA version of himself on the court.

His historic achievement puts him into a group of Spurs legends. He is only the tenth player to hit the 600 game mark. Eight of the other nine players currently have their jerseys hanging in the rafters of the AT&T Center (sorry, Matt, I’ve tried).

The Big 3 top the list as Tim Duncan (1392), Tony Parker (1198), and Manu Ginobili (1057) are the players to break a thousand games.

David Robinson was close with his 987.

George Gervin, the only member of this list to not win an NBA title, ended his career in San Antonio with 709 games.

Sean Elliott (669), Avery Johnson (644), Matt Bonner (632), and Bruce Bowen (630) round out the list. Patty could catch the Spurs play-by-play announcer, Sean Elliott, if he appears in every game this season.
