NWS: The sun will be shining for the first weekend of 2021

Let’s hope it’s a sign of things to come.

The sun will be shining for the first weekend of 2021, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

On New Year’s Day, temperatures are expected to reach 57 degrees with sunny skies. Saturday will be partly cloudy, but the mercury is expected to rise to a high of 62 degrees.

Sunday should offer beautiful weather with clear skies overhead, a high near 67 degrees, and a breeze blowing southwest.

The National Weather Service forecasts that the sunshine will continue into next week, with clear skies and high temperatures above 70 degrees through Wednesday.

The forecast is a welcome departure from the final days of 2020, which — fittingly — brought a wintry mix to the San Antonio area. Ingram, a city in Kerr County, reported four inches of snow on New Year’s Eve. Other Hill Country locations saw dustings of snow.
