NFL Fans Still Adjusting To Davante Adams’ New Look

That Davante Adams is wearing the silver and black uniform of the Las Vegas Raiders is no photo manipulation.

If you’re living under a rock, perhaps you haven’t heard the news that he was traded by Green Bay Packers to the Raiders.

In return, the Packers got the Raiders’ first and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

He will be reunited with his quarterback at Fresno State, Derek Carr, who got a three-year, $121.5 million contract extension.

Likewise, Adams got paid with a five-year, $141.25 million deal.

He was the highest paid wideout at the time of signing, but Tyreek Hill edged him with a four-year, $120 million contract from the Miami Dolphins.

The trade for Adams was shocking, considering that reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers remained in Green Bay on a three-year, $150 million deal.

It wouldn’t have made sense that Rodgers signed without knowing the team’s plans for Adams.

But that is history and Adams will be a huge asset in the offense that new head coach Josh McDaniels will install.

Aside from him, Las Vegas also has the emerging Hunter Renfrow, who had 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns last season.

There’s also Darren Waller, who can be devastating in McDaniels’ two-tight end sets.

Adams At The Peak Of His Career

While Adams has had solid numbers throughout his career, he became an elite receiver starting in 2018 when he had 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns.

He went over 1,000 receiving yards in three of his last four seasons, including 2021 wherein he finished with a career-high 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Therefore, Adams is at the peak of his ability and the Raiders will get to enjoy his talent.

With him on board, the Raiders should compete for a playoff spot, despite playing in a highly-competitive AFC West with the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs.
