The rest of the week will be a wet one as more severe storms are expected for San Antonio.

The National Weather Service said the Alamo City could see isolated severe storms late Wednesday afternoon that last through the night, with a second round of rainfall expected Friday night through Saturday.

Flash flooding and river flooding are a concern as areas surrounding San Antonio could see up to four inches this weekend, though higher amounts are possible. Some areas could see isolated pockets of six inches of rain.

Meteorologists are also anticipating frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes with Friday’s storms and warn that individuals may see “bolts from the blue” where lightning can strike 10 to 15 miles away from where it is actually raining.

The weather however isn’t anticipated to interfere with the Thunderbird flyover in San Antonio on Wednesday.
