A man is in critical condition after showing up to a South Side hospital with gunshot wounds, San Antonio police said.

Officers were at Southwest General Hospital just before 2:30 a.m. Friday for an unrelated call when a female friend brought 25-year-old Ezequiel Garcia to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper torso, police said. He told police that two masked men shot him, but didn’t know who they were.

The woman gave police her name but left the hospital soon after without the officer’s knowledge.

The man was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Hospital in critical condition.

Police later discovered the shooting occurred at the Caltex Mobile Home Park, near the 4040 block of SW Military Drive, less than 2 miles away. When they arrived at the mobile home park, police found a hat and a drop of blood in the area, officials said.

Police are investigating.
