The NFL has embarked on its first 272-game regular season. It began with a Thursday night clash between the Dallas Cowboys and the defending Super Bowl champion Buccaneers at Tampa. For the first time since 1993, the league will have an 18-week campaign. And Super Bowl LVI will be played in Los Angeles.

All told, there are plenty of numbers when it comes to the game of football. With an extra game for each club, we could see some new league records in some of these categories?

It’s always interesting to keep an eye on home field advantage in the NFL. The past two seasons, it has become a lot tougher to hold serve. In 2019, home teams were a stunning 132-123-1, a mere nine games above .500. A year ago, did COVID-19 and low or no stadium attendance result in a 127-128-1 mark for the home clubs?
