June 25th: Sunday’s MLS Accumulator – 7/1

With June’s international break drawing to a close earlier in the week, it will be the MLS that takes centre stage in the early hours of Sunday. So, for those of you looking to put on a weekend accumulator, we have found a handful of helpful tips that can offer a great return for your flutter.

Sunday June 25th

BST 00:30 New York Red Bulls vs Atlanta United

While New York might have mounted a stunning second-half comeback at home against Charlotte earlier in the week, the red Bulls are seeking some much-needed stability. Despite eventually playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw, Troy Lesene’s men have picked up just a single win from any of their last five domestic appearances across all competitions. Likewise, crashing out of the US Open Cup on May 24th following penalties heartbreak at the hands of Cincinnati, Sunday’s hosts have shown a string of glaring defensive issues. In fact, along with shipping five goals in their back-to-back MLS appearances on either side of the international break, New York have claimed just a sole domestic clean sheet over the past six weeks. Battling it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference table and tipped as a real underdog pick to claim a play-off ticket, Lesene’s struggling squad could face another tricky test here. Watching Atlanta snatch a remarkable last-gasp equaliser at home against New York City earlier in the week as they played out their own action-packed 2-2 draw, the Five Stripes have quickly gained a reputation as a stalemate specialist. Including a pair of 3-3 draws against New England and Chicago, Sunday’s guests have had to settle for a single point in five of their last six MLS showdowns. Likewise, with Atlanta seeing seven of their previous eight away fixtures finish with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 4/5

02:30 Real Salt Lake vs Minnesota

Marking their return from June’s international break with a pair of stellar performances, Real Salt Lake find themselves in the midst of what has become a real purple patch. Last seen laying down another marker as they breezed their way to a 3-1 romp away at St. Louis, the mood in Pablo Mastroeni’s men should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Gaining a string of plaudits from across America since opening the 2023 campaign, Sunday’s hosts will be looking to make another statement here. In fact, along with marking their return from the June interval with a 2-1 win against DC United, RSL have lost just one of their previous 10 domestic appearances – a run that stems all the way back to May 14th. Riding what has been a real wave of momentum and finding a clinical edge in the final third. Real Salt Lake should be relishing a return to America First Field this weekend. While Mastroeni’s side might be enjoying a major MLS flurry, the same cannot be said for a struggling Minnesota. Last seen putting in a nightmare display as they slumped to a 4-0 drumming at the hands of Montreal, Sunday’s guests are now without a win from any of their previous five domestic appearances. With that run highlighted by another 4-0 loss against Houston on May 24th, the Loons should be bracing themselves for another stern test here.

Tip: Real Salt Lake win @ 8/7

03:30 San Jose Earthquakes vs St. Louis City

Putting in a downbeat display earlier in the week as they slumped to a shock 4-1 drumming away at Houston, there is no doubt that San Jose will be looking to prove that performance was nothing more than a minor blip. However, despite watching their eye-catching flurry come to an abrupt end a few days ago, the Earthquakes will be glad to make a return to home soil here. Sat in pole position to book a play-off ticket in the Western Conference, Luchi Gonzalez’s side have certainly gained a reputation for their continued success in California. Including a 2-1 win against Philadelphia prior to the international break, the Goonies are unbeaten in each of their last nine straight appearances at PayPal Park – a run that stems all the way back to February 18th. Knowing that an immediate return to winning ways this weekend could see them climb as high as second in the Western Conference, Sunday’s hosts will be looking to cash in on a St. Louis squad who are enduring a real domestic wobble. Hit with a routine 3-1 loss at home against RSL in midweek, the Reds have collected just a single point from any of their last four MLS outings. Likewise, in what has become an infamous away rut, it should be noted that Bradley Carnell’s men have lost each of their previous four away showdowns by an aggregate score of 8-2.

Tip: San Jose Earthquakes win @ 11/10
