Highlights: Harrison Barnes sinks Warriors at the buzzer to cap off 20-point night

The Spurs playing spoiler to playoff teams: A tradition since 2024.
Coming off a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Spurs traveled to San Francisco to take on the Golden State Warriors. What followed was a see-saw affair. The Warriors started the game with a 9-0 run and the Spurs were outscored 32-23 in the first quarter. Then, the Spurs started the second by going on a 10-0 run and outscored the Warriors 32-19 in the second to take a four-point lead at halftime. The Spurs went ice cold in the third quarter and were outscored 37-21. However, they fought back in the fourth. The Spurs took the lead with three minutes remaining. Both teams exchanged clutch baskets (some were free throws) when Keldon Johnson drained back-to-back clutch buckets to put the Spurs up by two with 11 seconds left. Draymond Green was fouled with three seconds left and nailed both free throws to tie the game. Harrison Barnes took the inbounds pass from Stephon Castle and drained a fadeaway three over Jimmy Butler at the buzzer for the win! The Spurs won 114-111.
Harrison Barnes dropped 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. HB was as solid as he’s been all season. He drained six threes at a scorching 66%. He had his corner specialist badge on, and most importantly, he had his clutch badge on. HB’s buzzer-beating three will likely cause ripple effects in Western Conference playoff positioning just like when Devonte’ Graham beat the Nuggets late in the season last year.

From missing a bunny versus the Cavs, to draining a difficult deep fadeaway three over an All-Defensive defender, HB deserves all the praise!

Stephon Castle was the co-leader in points with 21. He also dropped five assists, three rebounds, two steals, and a block. Steph was as stellar as an eventual ROTY winner should play. Most of his assists came in clutch time. His growth from being a pure scorer to a two-way playmaker has been a joy to watch, and he’s still improving!
TOUGH. Steph muscles his way into the paint over Jonathan Kuminga!
next up, second quarter!

Keldon Johnson dropped 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal. KJ was clutch down the stretch. Hustle and heart are his middle names because even if he missed close shots, KJ would get offensive rebounds and putbacks. He should get 6MOTY votes, but he will likely get snubbed.
K3LDON! KJ and Devin Vassell run the give and go for the corner three!
heading into the final frame!

What an amazing game! At several points during the game, mostly during the first and third quarters, it looked like the Warriors were going to pull away. However, the Silver and Black never gave up. The fact that the Warriors were at full strength and still managed to choke away a game to a former Warrior himself in Harrison Barnes is a true testament to not take any team lightly. Spoiler Spurs are pests that are hard to eradicate. Here’s to the last two games of the season!
Finally, here are the full game highlights.
The Spurs take on the Phoenix Suns in Phoenix on Friday at 9:00 P.M. (CST) on KENS5.
