High winds already in San Antonio, freezing temps on the way

Expect a breezy Friday as winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour are in the forecast for the San Antonio area. Gusts of winds may even reach 35 miles per hour. Given the strength of the winds, the National Weather Service suggests that loose outdoor objects be secured or brought indoors. Temperature wise, Friday will be quite cold with near or below freezing temperatures, the National Weather Service tweeted early in the day.

While the weekend highs will inch into the low 60s with the help of mostly-clear skies, San Antonians should prepare for colder temperatures this weekend. Saturday, February 11 will bring freezing temperatures while Sunday, February 12 will be just slightly warmer with a low of 36 degrees. Please, wear your go-to Dallas Cowboys hoodie if you must stay warm while watching the Super Bowl.

Though it will warm up a bit after the weekend, early next week is expected to be a wet one. The current forecast says San Antonio may be in store for more rain with a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms late Monday, February 13 and early Tuesday, February 14. It will warm up as the week goes on (don’t worry, we’ll be back in the 80s by Wednesday, February 15), but early next week will see lows in the 40s and 50s.
