Here are the roads closed for the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio marathon


The Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon and half-marathon will close a considerable amount of roads downtown this weekend.

The 2022 Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon is rocking back into San Antonio this weekend starting on Saturday, December 3. That means roads will be closed downtown for most of the morning and into midday. 

Runners will be on the streets of downtown San Antonio running the 5K and 10K courses on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. with the starting line at the Espee Pavilion, formerly known as Sunset Station. The full and half marathons will start at N. Flores and Commerce streets on Sunday, December 4, starting at 7 a.m.  

The full list of road closures on Saturday for the 5K and 10K can be found below.

The website lists multiple “areas” where streets will be closed downtown  for the Sunday marathons that include: 

  • UTSA – Downtown Campus Area;  4 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Central downtown near Hemisfair; 5 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
  • Brackenridge/Broadway/North of Downtown/Pearl; 5 a.m. –10:30 a.m.
  • Government Hill/Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston/Mahncke Park; 5 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
  • Coliseum Oaks/Montana Street/Arena District; 5 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
  • Coliseum Oaks/Coliseum Willow Park; 5 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Southeast Side/Wheatley Heights/Artesia; 5 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
