Goodwill San Antonio is asking residents to hold off on their donations during coronavirus-related restrictions until operations can resume.

The organization suspended retail operations under the city and county’s “Stay Home, Work Safe” order in effect until April 9 to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The suspension includes donation locations, Goodwill San Antonio said in a statement.

“In order to be good stewards of the donations entrusted to us, we kindly ask the community to hold their donations until we are allowed to resume operations,” the local offices said in a statement. “Donations will be needed more than ever as the proceeds from the sale of donated items in our stores helps fund meaningful education, career training, and employment programs we provide to those who are underserved and overcoming barriers to employment.”

All Goodwill San Antonio operations closed on March 25.
