The Silver and Black open the season against Marcus Morris and the Knicks
Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
Finally, it’s time for real Spurs basketball, and it’s against everyone’s favorite offseason villain, Marcus Morris and the New York Knicks. As usual, the Knicks aren’t good this year, but historically, they’ve given the Spurs some trouble, hanging at least one bad loss on the team every season in recent memory. But Gregg Popovich has a really good record in opening games of the season, so hopefully he has LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar DeRozan, Dejounte Murray and the rest of the guys ready to take out the team from the Big Apple.
The fans should be ready tonight, and you might hear some booing in the arena, but that could be just the ghosts in the AT&T Center getting an early start on Halloween. GO Spurs GOoOOO!
