The NBA’s best players gather for the annual All Star exhibition

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

The NBA is on their official All-Star Weekend. Athletes are on a break. But LaMarcus Aldridge is playing tonight for Team LeBron.

It’s the NBA All Star Game, where everything’s made up, and the points don’t matter. Or is that ‘Whose Line is it Anway?’ In any case, we will get to see the league’s annual showcase of the megastars, who are picked to play in the game by conference and then divided into teams based on the whims of team captains. It’s a mystery of who you’re supposed to root for, but I guess it’s Team LeBron this year, because that’s the team that LaMarcus is on. Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading the other team and expect to see lots of dunking, showboating and absolutely no defense until the final 2 minutes. It will be a high-scoring affair and nobody will remember who wins.
