Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva decided to swap Manchester for Milan as they went on a double date with their other halves on Monday.

The Man City duo dined out at Salumaio di Montenapoleone in the Italian city, with Silva dressing the part by wearing a turtle neck and blazer combo, while Gundogan went for a more casual look.

Gundogan was accompanied by his wife Sara Arfaoui, while Silva was with girlfriend Ines Tomaz for the spot of lunch in the city.

The four were in high spirits as they sat down in the restaurant’s courtyard for some food, sharing jokes with one another during some time off in midweek.

In a post on Arfaoui’s Instagram story, Silva and Gundogan are seen laughing with one another while surrounded by the historic Bagatti Valsecchi building the restaurant is situated in.

It is a rare occurrence that the two midfielders have several days off in midweek, given City’s hectic schedule of playing multiple games a week.

Pep Guardiola urged his players to ‘forget football’ on Sunday and enjoy their time off following their win over Newcastle on Saturday.

He said: ‘It’s good now not to think much, two days off for everyone, we need it because it’s been a tough February month for us.

‘Not for the amount of games, which we are used to, but especially the away, travels, away, travels. Now it’s two days off. I like in these two days that people forget football if they can. Enjoy time with their friends and family or whatever.

‘Then Tuesday to Saturday, we have enough time to reset ourselves and do it again.’
