Derrick White exits Spurs vs. Wizards with apparent ankle injury

The hits keep coming for Derrick White, who exited the San Antonio Spurs vs. Washington Wizards game just over three minutes into the third quarter after landing on Jakob Poeltl’s foot on a driving contest and appearing to badly turn his ankle.

His teammates helped him off the court before he walked a bit on his own heading back towards the locker room, but it doesn’t look like something he will return tonight from at a minimum. The Wizards were up 71-72 at the time. Poeltl also appeared to roll his ankle on a closeout moments earlier but stayed in the game.

White has missed 24 games so far this season due to offseason toe surgery, another foot injury, and COVID.
