City, Liverpool And United All Pursuing Deal For England Under 17 Starlet
Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in snapping up Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, according to reports in the English media.
The Villans are keen to tie down the 16-year-old to a new deal as the youngster is only on a part-time academy scholarship with the Midlands club at the moment.
It does mean that City could step in and secure Chukwuemeka onto a professional contract without paying a significant fee to Villa.
The teenager is already an England Under 17 international, and despite his young age, he has been handed game time for Villa’s Under 23s, having featured in matches against West Brom, Fulham and Reading in recent months.
Chukwuemeka has yet to play a game in senior football but he is widely regarded as being one of the most promising players in his age group in the country. Whether he will be tempted to up sticks and move clubs, though, we shall have to wait and see.
