Buccaneers QB Coach Comments On The Backup Role

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced uncertainty at quarterback after Tom Brady‘s retirement.

Kyle Trask was their potential starter, which was not an attractive look for free agents.

That scenario could have forced the likes of Leonard Fournette and Chris Godwin to sign elsewhere.

But after 40 days, Brady ended his retirement, announcing his return for a 23rd NFL season.

After all, there’s no sense in him retiring after a season with over 5,000 yards and over 40 touchdowns.

With Brady back at the helm, Godwin and Fournette signed three-year deals with the team.

Tampa Bay also re-signed Blaine Gabbert to beef up their quarterback depth chart.

Meanwhile, Trask is once again third in the depth chart, but it’s not a cause for concern to Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen.
