Barcelona are set to hold talks with Ilaix Moriba over a new contract next week amid interest from several high-profile clubs.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all reportedly interested in the midfielder, who has just over a year remaining on his current deal.

As reported by Marca, Barcelona are determined to keep the 18-year-old and will attempt to persuade him to stay.

Barcelona are set to offer Moriba a new three-year deal as they look to prevent a scenario that would allow him to discuss a pre-contract agreement with non-Spanish clubs from January next year. 

There had been suggestions that Moriba’s wage demands are excessive, but the Catalan club will still do their utmost to try and keep him.

Moriba broke into the Barcelona first-team this season as he made 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and providing three assists.

According to Mundo Deportivo, United have made a ‘firm offer’ for Moriba, who was born in Guinea but has represented Spain at Under-17 level. 

Moriba has a buy-out clause of £86m and has worked his way through the ranks at Barcelona’s academy having joined the club at the age of seven.
