A newborn baby is considered missing after he was supposed to be turned over to Child Protective Services, police said Friday.

Bravery Schmalz was last seen May 22, a day after he was born, in the 1000 block of East Sonterra Boulevard, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said Bravery is believed to be with his biological mother, who was recently ordered to surrender custody of the baby boy to CPS.

The mother was not identified Friday evening.

Bravery has brown hair and eyes, has a light complexion and weighs seven pounds, police said. He was last seen wrapped in a blue blanket.

Investigators ask anyone who may have seen the baby or knows his whereabouts to call the SAPD missing persons unit at (210) 207-7660.
