20-year-old girl hospitalized after being shot outside Cowboys Dancehall

At approximately 2:40 A.M. on Sunday, authorities were called out to the 3000 block NE Loop 410 for reports of shots fired outside the popular venue.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, when officials made it to the scene they were told by security guards that a large fight ensued in the parking lot before an unknown suspect fired off a handgun into the ground to break up the struggle.

Moments later, a second call came in at a different location where a 20-year-old woman discovered she was bleeding after getting home from Cowboys Dancehall that same night. The victim told SAPD that she saw the unknown individual shoot a gun into the ground before immediately leaving the venue for home where she later discovered she was bleeding. The young woman is now in stable condition, according to San Antonio officials.

Authorities didn’t make it clear whether the victim was injured by gunshot wound or by fragments of pavement after the gunfire. MySA has contacted the San Antonio Police Department for further comment on the incident.

This is an ongoing investigation.
