Spurs vs Hawks Game Thread

After the disappointing loss to the Kings, the Spurs need to regain their confidence and improve on both ends of the floor to have a chance to advance in the playoffs.

Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.

Welcome to the game thread. The lackluster effort against the Kings showed that the Spurs still have a ways to go before they are considered a threat in the playoffs. With just five games left in the regular season, it’s a tall order for the team to suddenly play consistently well, but it would be a good start for them to put together a good game against the Atlanta Hawks. This might be the time for Derrick White to get back some of his defensive mojo against Trae Young, who he defended pretty well the last time the two teams met. The Spurs have had trouble putting away bad teams this year, but Coach Pop got plenty of rest by leaving the Kings game early, so he’s going to light a fire under DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge. If Patty Mills breaks out of his shooting slump, it’ll be a good night for the Silver and Black, so let’s all watch. Go Spurs GO!
