The Spurs are in the playoffs for the 22nd consecutive season. Gregg Popovich just won his 1413th game and surpassed Lenny Wilkins for most wins of all time. The Spurs took a game away from the Nuggets in Denver to kick off the postseason.

An outsider might give credit to the Spurs success to Gregg Popovich, or Tim Duncan, or the Big 3. But at the core, many of the key players throughout Pop’s tenure have come through the NBA Draft.

In a series of interviews from NBA on ESPN involving Pop, R. C. Buford, Tony Parker, and Derrick White, the curtain is pulled back a little on what makes the Spurs drafting so essential to their ongoing success.
