There weren’t many positives to take away from the Spurs loss to the Hawks at home, handing Atlanta their first win in San Antonio since 1997 and giving them an unacceptable season sweep. If there was one positive note to take away, it’s that DeMar DeRozan is continuing to tear up the league, becoming the first guard ever to post 20+ points, 3+ assists and 50% shooting in 13 consecutive games.

DeRozan posted 25 points and 9 assists on 9-16 shooting last night to maintain his record pace. He also just barely missed an impressive triple-double with 9 rebounds. Next in line, holding the overall record for such a streak is none other than Wilt Chamberlain at 19 games. Can DeMar keep thus up for seven more games to break his record? At this point, it’s becoming hard to imagine he can’t.

The other bright spot from the game was LaMarcus Aldridge, who was hot himself, scoring 30 points on 11-20 shooting before fouling out on a couple of questionable calls. It was after that the Spurs really fell apart down the stretch, but with his last points Aldridge moved up the Spurs leader board in scoring, surpassing Larry Keanon and moving into 8th place on the Spurs’ all-time scoring list.
