Youngster raises thousands after epic trek to Old Trafford
United legend Sammy McIlroy joined the walk at one point, as did Harvey’s headteacher, teachers and many friends and family members, plus representatives from Golborne Sports Club, Leigh United and Leigh Rugby Club.
“What a little champion Harvey is!” praised Sammy Mac. “His drive and determination throughout this walk has been amazing and the fact he’s raised such a lot of money along the way is incredible. The reception was unbelievable. It’s great to walk down Sir Matt Busby Way and you see these people [walking] for a really great cause, Alder Hey Hospital. This little lad has been absolutely amazing.”
Young Harvey has no plans to stop, either.
