Wolverhampton Manager Julen Lopetegui Departs Just Days Before EPL Season

Julen Lopetegui has stepped down as manager of Wolverhampton after nine months in charge, just days before the start of the Premier League season. The former Spain and Real Madrid coach reportedly left due to dissatisfaction with the club’s financial situation. Wolves and Lopetegui have mutually agreed to part ways, according to a statement from the club. Lopetegui took over in November when the team was in last place and successfully guided them to safety and a 13th-place finish. The club is now expected to hire Gary O’Neil, who recently left Bournemouth, as Lopetegui’s replacement. Wolverhampton’s first match of the season will be against Manchester United next Monday. The club thanked Lopetegui and his staff for their dedication and hard work, while Lopetegui expressed his gratitude to the club and wished them luck for the future.
