Wins for Keita, Konate and Van Dijk in Monday’s internationals

Naby Keita scored as Guinea won while Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk also enjoyed victories in Monday’s international fixtures.

Liverpool midfielder Keita netted the opening goal early on to set his country on their way to a 3-2 success over Ethiopia in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. He also set up their second goal before being substituted at half-time.

In Euro 2024 qualification Group B, Konate started and finished France’s 1-0 away victory against the Republic of Ireland, for whom Caoimhin Kelleher was an unused substitute, and Van Dijk captained the Netherlands to a 3-0 home triumph versus Gibraltar.

Finally, Kostas Tsimikas had to be substituted midway through the first half of Greece’s friendly goalless stalemate with Lithuania.
