Willian admits he wants move to another club in England when he leaves Chelsea with Spurs interested

Willian has admitted that his preference is to join another Premier League club when his Chelsea contract expires this summer.

The winger has been unable to agree a new deal to keep him at Stamford Bridge, and, as things stand, is set to leave the club at the end of June.

Tottenham, managed by Willian’s former boss Jose Mourinho, are interested in signing the 31-year-old on a free transfer, according to The Sun

Willian said: ‘My desire is to stay in the Premier League, but I don’t rule out playing in other leagues, no. I’ll play until the end of the season and see what happens.

‘The only concrete negotiation was to renew a contract with Chelsea, which wasn’t possible. They wanted a two-year contract and I asked for three.

‘Now, everything has stopped.’

‘We hear the rumours, we know that we have interest from clubs, especially because I’ll be free in the market, I’ll be able to negotiate, there are no offers for now.’

Willian came close to joining Tottenham from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 but the move failed to materialise, with Chelsea signing him instead.

During his time with the Blues Willian has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

This season Willian has made 37 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions – he has scored seven goals and provided six assists.

Two other Chelsea attackers are set to be out of contract this summer, with Pedro and Olivier Giroud both seeing their deals expire.
