Warriors Won’t Pursue Salary Dump Trade This Offseason

The Golden State Warriors do not appear to be in a rush to shed salary ahead of the start of the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement that contain more punitive penalties for high salary teams.

Sources tell Anthony Slater of The Athletic that the Warriors do not plan to pursue a salary dump trade that is purely about reducing payroll.

There has been speculation that the Warriors could look to trade Poole this offseason. But Poole is not being actively shopped and there is no edict from ownership to cut salary.

The second tax apron doesn’t kick in until the 24-25 season when Klay Thompson’s $43 million comes off the books.

The Warriors could look to trade Poole, but only if it makes sense for their roster. The Warriors are operating under the assumption that Poole and Draymond Green can continue to play together and that the offseason could help mend the situation.
